Start of the 2026 Apprenticeship Programme at the Andreas Schmid Group

Gersthofen, 4 September 2026.
Twenty young people began their apprenticeships at the Andreas Schmid Group on 1 September 2026. Training in a range of commercial, operational and technical professions, they are laying the foundations for their future careers. They will be supported by Head of Vocational Training Lina Jahn and the family-owned company’s experienced colleagues.
For medium-sized companies, training their own young professionals is a crucial investment in securing their future. Through practical knowledge transfer, personal support and a wide range of development opportunities, the Andreas Schmid Group aims to inspire young people to pursue long-term careers in logistics and related professional fields.
“The start of an apprenticeship marks the beginning of an exciting new chapter for our new colleagues. It is important to us that they feel part of the company from day one, are given the opportunity to take on responsibility and receive the support they need for their personal and professional development,” explains Lina Jahn, Head of Vocational Training.
Starting their careers together
The first day of training began with a welcome and an introduction to the Andreas Schmid Group by Chief Financial Officer Claudia Ambrosy. During a safety briefing and a tour of the cross-docking area, the new apprentices then gained their first insights into the company and its operational processes.
An official group photo captured the start of their journey together. Over a shared lunch of burgers, salad and ice cream in the AS canteen, there was plenty of time to get to know one another and make their first connections. In the afternoon, the apprentices received their AS T-shirts, had their portrait photographs taken and met their personal mentors. The day concluded with tours of our cross-docking terminal and one of our contract logistics facilities.
“A good apprenticeship is about more than simply imparting specialist knowledge. Mutual trust, reliable points of contact and the opportunity to discover one’s own strengths are equally important. These are precisely the conditions we want to provide for our apprentices,” emphasises Lina Jahn.
Apprenticeships in 2026
The new apprentices are training for the following professions:
Freight forwarding and logistics services management assistants
Office management assistants
Warehouse logistics specialists
Warehouse operators
Professional drivers
Office management assistants and professional drivers completing vocational training under Germany’s Qualification Opportunities Act
Through its apprenticeship programme, the Andreas Schmid Group is once again making a targeted investment in young talent in 2026. During their training, the apprentices will become familiar with a variety of responsibilities, gain practical experience and be prepared step by step for their future roles.
“We want to offer our apprentices genuine prospects and show them the diverse career opportunities available within a modern logistics company. I look forward to supporting them on their journey and shaping the future of the Andreas Schmid Group together,” says Lina Jahn.
